SUSTAINABILITY

What is Sustainable Fashion?

The term 'sustainability' is thrown around a lot on social media these days. Often times, it is used incorrectly, or doesn't capture the full meaning. While the word is interpreted in so many different ways, the ultimate goal of sustainability, and sustainable fashion, is to preserve the world we live in today. Sustainable fashion has become a movement to shift the fashion industry towards greater ecological integrity and social justice, hence its three main categories: environmental, social, and economic change. While this is true, people hold different values and beliefs, which proves that there isn't a simple explanation and answer to the concept. At SCOUT, we believe that the four main factors that make up a 'sustainable garment' are them being: eco-friendly, ethically made, long lasting, and if possible, recycled. Our goal is to become one of the most reliable, and accessible, sustainable fashion clothing brands out there. We hope to build a community that feels like they've left their mark on the world.

Our Packaging

At SCOUT, we believe sustainable practices should extend beyond just the ready made garment, but also include how our pieces are delivered to your front door. Therefore, we use 100% recycled packaging and shipping supplies from EcoEnclose.

One Tree Planted

One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Their projects span the globe and are done in partnership with local communities and knowledgeable experts to create an impact for nature, people, and wildlife. Reforestation helps to rebuild forests after fires and floods, provide jobs for social impact, and restore biodiversity. Many projects have overlapping objectives, creating a combination of benefits that contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. We are so excited about this partnership, and are making a promise to you that with every item sold, we will plant one tree "one for one". To learn more, click this link
